Research

My research interests lie broadly in classical gravitational physics, including the theory of motion (particularly self-force and extended-body effects), the propagation of electromagnetic and gravitational waves in curved spacetimes, and the consequences of nonlinearity in general relativity.

Brief summaries of my papers may be found here. See also arXiv, Google Scholar, or ResearchGate for the usual publication lists.

Recent talks

  • Does geometric optics depend on geometry?
  • Flatlanders never forget: Self-interaction in lower dimensions
  • Self-force: Foundations and formalism
  • Exploring the not-so-nonlinear nonlinearity of Einstein's equation
